United Airlines has said it will extend its cancellation period of Boeing 737 Max flights by one month.

The decision will now last until Aug 3, as the jetliner remains grounded following two fatal crashes which took place in March killing a combined 346 people.

United Airlines has 14 737 Max jets in its fleet – it is said the extended decision will lead to about 40 or 45 daily cancelled flights.

The airline is not the only carrier which has extended its grounding period through to August. In April, American Airlines took the decision to suspend 737 Max flights into August. American Airlines decision was made as it awaits regulatory approval for the aircraft to fly again.

The worldwide grounding in March of Boeing’s fast-selling aircraft followed a crash in Indonesia and another in Ethiopia that killed a combined 346 people.
